Where are you based?
theSHED is based in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne. We operate from a private residential address, so when visiting please look for a house rather than a shop.
Is theSHED a shop?
No — theSHED is a home-based cycle service and repair business, not a retail shop. All visits are by appointment only.
What areas do you cover?
We primarily serve Gosforth and the wider Newcastle upon Tyne area, including nearby neighbourhoods. If you’re local and unsure whether we can help, just get in touch.
What cycle services do you offer?
We provide cycle servicing, repairs, and general maintenance, from basic adjustments to more involved work. If you’re not sure what your bike needs, we’re happy to advise.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes. As theSHED is home-based, all visits must be arranged in advance. This helps us manage time properly and ensures we’re available when you arrive.
What types of bikes do you work on?
We work on most everyday cycles, including commuter bikes, leisure bikes, and children’s bikes. If you have something unusual, feel free to ask before booking.

Absolutely. Whether you’re new to cycling or just want straightforward, honest help with your bike, theSHED is a relaxed and welcoming place to get things sorted.
How do I book a visit?
You can contact us via the website to arrange an appointment. We’ll confirm availability and provide visiting details once a time is agreed.

Please do not arrive without an appointment as I can't guarantee I'll be available to speak with or even able to take in your bike for service or repair. All 'Out Of Hours' calls will be receive an automated SMS message directing you to the online booking page.booking deposits
Due to an increased number of last minute cancelations and no shows all bookings now require a 50% deposit paying upfront before being confirmed.prices shown
Prices shown unless otherwise stated are a labour charge only. If your bike needs replacement parts then these can be supplied at an additional cost - or you are welcome to source and supply any parts you need fitting.booking email
You be sent an email regarding your booking and how to pay the deposit (PLEASE CHECK SPAM/JUNK FOLDER IF NOT IN INBOX) All appointments will be cancelled if deposit isn't paid within 12hrs of this email
payment balance
Final balance owed must be paid by cash/card/Paypal/Bank transfer on collection or return of the bike. Bikes will not be released until all money owed is paid.call out charge
All bookings are subject to a 'call out' fee priced at £1 per mile per journey if you are requiring your bike collecting or repaired onsite. This will be waived if located within a 5 mile radius and booking one of our three main service options.out or hours pickup/drop offs
'Out Of Hours' drop offs and pickups can be arranged but strictly on prior agreement, otherwise I respectfully request bikes are dropped off and collected as close to the allotted appointment times.storage charge
As we are home based we have minimum storage space so kindly request all bikes are collected within 24hrs of completion. If not then a £2 per day storage charge will be added to your bill.PLEASE NOTE
ALL BOOKINGS ARE SUBJECT TO A DEPOSIT BEING PAID BEFORE BEING CONFIRMED.
Details on how to pay the deposit will be emailed once you make an appointment and all bookings will be automatically cancelled if deposit isn't paid within the allowed timeframe.
